Cyclists reach Quy Nhon after gruelling 178km stage 12 at HTV Cup

Cyclists competing in the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup completed Stage 12 on April 15, finishing a demanding 178km route from Cam Thanh Ward in Quang Ngai to Quy Nhon Ward in Gia Lai at around midday.

The stage began at Pham Van Dong Square in Cam Thanh and concluded at Victory Square in Quy Nhon, testing riders with challenging conditions along the coastal route.

Strong sea breezes blowing inland, combined with crosswinds and intense heat, created significant obstacles throughout the race, impacting pace and rider endurance.

Organisers are scheduled to present awards for Stage 12 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Quy Nhon on the morning of April 16, recognising top-performing cyclists.

The tournament will then move on to Stage 13, a 50km circuit race around Quy Nhon Ward. The stage consists of 20 laps of a 2.5km loop, starting and finishing on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, passing through the Nguyen Thai Hoc and Nguyen Hue roundabouts.

The 38th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Cup - 2026, themed “Non sông liền một dải HTV Tôn Đông Á” (The Country United as One – HTV Ton Dong A), began in Phu Tho Province on April 3.

The race passes through various provinces and cities including: Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, and concludes in Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, coinciding with the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026).

The race features 25 stages with a total distance of 2,757 km, attracting 112 cyclists from 16 of the country’s top cycling clubs, including 13 international riders.

All 25 stages will be broadcast live on HTV9, HTV7, HTV Sports, and the digital platforms of Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station (HTV), allowing fans to follow the competition throughout its journey.
