Gia Lai approves Thaco Agri’s VND 3.82 trillion sustainable agriculture project

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province has approved the investment policy for a sustainable agricultural development project by Thaco Agri, with total investment capital of nearly VND 3.82 trillion ($145 million), in Po To Commune.

The project will be invested in by Trung Nguyen Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company and cover 1,624.41 hectares, including 1,399.41 hectares of agricultural land for crop cultivation and 225 hectares for barns, warehouses, production facilities, offices and other infrastructure.

The project has an operating period of 50 years and will focus on cultivating, caring for and developing perennial crops alongside pig farming.

The planned livestock operation will maintain about 566,050 pigs of various types, with estimated annual output of approximately 1.34 million pigs.

According to the approved schedule, procedures for investment approval, basic design approval, land allocation and construction permits are expected to be completed from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of 2026.

Construction of project components is scheduled to begin from January 2027 through the fourth quarter of 2027, alongside procedures for environmental and fire safety permits.

The project is expected to be completed and begin operations in the first quarter of 2028.

The provincial government requires the investor to comply with regulations governing investment, land, forestry, construction, environmental protection, fire prevention and other relevant areas throughout the project’s implementation.

The investor is also expected to coordinate with and support the local community by helping improve transport infrastructure, supporting livelihoods, prioritizing local recruitment and participating in social welfare activities in the area.

Provincial departments, agencies and local authorities will be responsible for guiding, supervising and facilitating the investor to ensure the project is implemented on schedule, with quality and efficiency.
