Staff at the Gia Lai Provincial Museum are completing artifact arrangements, updating displays, and refurbishing exhibition rooms to create a more engaging environment.
Director Bùi Tĩnh said Tet is the museum’s peak season, drawing local, domestic, and international visitors to explore regional history and Cham heritage sites. Duty schedules and guide assignments have already been arranged.
The museum is also updating explanations for regular exhibitions and highlighting key collections on Gia Lai’s history, local ethnic cultures, and revolutionary milestones.
According to Hoàng Yến, exhibition spaces have been reorganized and display pedestals repainted, while the museum’s outdoor areas have been landscaped to offer a green, open setting for springtime visitors.
At the Quang Trung Museum in Tây Sơn, landscaping and lighting repairs have been completed to prepare for Tet crowds. The museum preserves more than 1,500 artifacts and digitized documents.
Đặng Công Lập said displays are being cleaned and rearranged, with the exhibition area opening from the second day of Tet and free admission offered from the afternoon of the fourth to fifth day.
Both institutions are also upgrading heritage sites under their management. The Quang Trung Museum is cleaning and beautifying areas such as the Temple of Tây Sơn Tam Kiệt, Kính Thiên Monument, temples dedicated to the parents of Tây Sơn Tam Kiệt, Admiral Bùi Thị Xuân and Grand Minister Võ Văn Dũng, as well as the Ancestral Tomb of Tây Sơn Tam Kiệt.
The Gia Lai Provincial Museum is focusing on landscaping at Cham tower complexes, including the Twin Towers, Bánh Ít Towers, Cánh Tiên, and Dương Long. Nguyễn Thanh Vinh said the Twin Towers site is undergoing ground renovation, flower planting and restroom repairs.
From the third to tenth day of the first lunar month, Bình Định martial arts and Cham dances will be performed at the Twin Towers. From the third to sixth day of Tet, the Bánh Ít Towers will host a bài chòi folk game festival. Visitors will also be able to buy OCOP products and enjoy local cuisine.
Preparations at the Quang Trung Museum are especially significant this year as it also prepares for the 255th anniversary of the Tây Sơn Peasant Uprising (1771-2026) and the 237th anniversary of the Ngọc Hồi - Đống Đa Victory (1789-2026). Acting Deputy Director Nguyễn Văn Tấn said coordination with local authorities is underway to ensure a solemn and vibrant festival.
From the fourth to sixth day of Tet, the program will include gong performances, Tây Sơn martial arts music, traditional Bình Định martial arts, bài chòi games, as well as hát bội and bài chòi opera shows.
The comprehensive preparations by both museums aim to elevate service quality and highlight their roles as key cultural destinations during the spring season, promising visitors meaningful experiences connecting history, heritage, and local traditions.
