Gia Lai Power Company has completed electricity investment for all 16 resettlement projects under the government-backed “Quang Trung Campaign,” enabling thousands of disaster-affected households to stabilise their lives as reconstruction continues across the province.

Acting on the Prime Minister’s Official Telegram No. 234/CĐ-TTg and directives from the Central Power Corporation and the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, the company moved swiftly to ensure electricity supply kept pace with housing construction in resettlement areas. The guiding principle was clear: wherever homes are rebuilt, electricity must follow.

Across Gia Lai province, 16 resettlement projects are under way to relocate and provide stable accommodation for 1,861 households affected by storms and floods. Gia Lai Power Company coordinated closely with local authorities from the outset, investing in power infrastructure in parallel with housing works and shortening inspection and acceptance procedures to deliver electricity as soon as safety conditions were met.

By December 18, 2025, the company had completed power grid investments for all resettlement projects, with many areas already supplying electricity to individual households. This early access has allowed residents to settle more quickly, stabilise daily life and resume production activities.

At the local level, power management teams worked intensively to restore and expand the grid. In areas managed by the Quy Nhon Power Management Team, 2,191 houses were affected, including 10 completely destroyed. Multiple task forces were deployed to replace damaged poles and lines, ensuring timely and safe power supply as homes were rebuilt.

“We closely follow each household; as soon as a house is completed, we immediately supply electricity, so residents do not have to wait,” said Trần Viết Phi, Deputy Technical Leader of the Quy Nhon Power Management Team.

Local authorities credited the power sector’s rapid response as critical to recovery efforts. Nguyễn Thị Bích Hoa, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Quy Nhon Nam Ward, said timely involvement by the electricity provider played a decisive role in stabilising residents’ lives and ensuring the campaign’s success.

Similar efforts were seen in An Khê, where 13 homes were completely destroyed and 449 severely damaged. By December 25, 2025, the An Khê Power Management Team had supplied electricity to 100% of households rebuilding new homes under the campaign.

Province-wide, nearly 30,000 houses were affected by storms and floods, including 674 destroyed and about 28,000 severely damaged and requiring repair, reconstruction or relocation. As of December 18, 2025, Gia Lai Power Company had largely restored electricity to around 28,000 affected homes and provided new connections to 554 rebuilt or relocated houses.

Beyond technical work, power sector staff also conducted on-site safety checks and guided residents on safe electricity use after disasters. For families such as that of Phạm Thị Lẹ in Phù Mỹ Bắc commune, early access to electricity in newly rebuilt homes brought both relief and reassurance ahead of the Tet holiday.

Looking ahead, the company said supplying electricity after natural disasters remains a core political and social responsibility, closely tied to public welfare and trust. “Each post-disaster power project not only brings light, but also rekindles hope and lays the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development,” said Thái Minh Châu, Director of Gia Lai Power Company.
