Schools across Gia Lai are intensifying final preparations for the 2026 National High School Graduation Exam, with educators focusing not only on academic revision and test-taking skills but also on helping students maintain confidence and emotional stability ahead of the crucial assessment.

More than 37,900 candidates in the province have registered for this year's examination. In the final days before the test, high schools and vocational education-continuing education centers have increased revision activities aimed at consolidating key knowledge and strengthening examination skills.

Many schools have shifted from intensive mock-test practice to thematic and competency-based review sessions designed to address students' remaining weaknesses. Revision programs are being organized in line with the sample exam structure issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

At Quang Trung High School No. 1 in Tây Sơn Commune, where 394 students are registered for the examination, teachers are concentrating on reinforcing core knowledge rather than introducing new material.

Principal Nguyễn Đình Cung said teachers have been instructed to closely assess individual student performance and provide targeted support, particularly for those struggling with specific topics.

"We require teachers to closely monitor each student's abilities, focus on reinforcing foundational knowledge, train scientific test-taking skills, and guide students on effective self-study methods in the final days before the exam", Cung said.

Using results from previous assessments and mock examinations, teachers are directing students toward areas where they still have knowledge gaps while helping them avoid common mistakes identified during practice tests.

At the Provincial Center for Vocational Education–Continuing Education in Quy Nhơn Nam Ward, instructors are taking a similar approach. Teachers emphasize familiarizing students with question formats and reducing basic errors rather than introducing new types of questions.

Nguyễn Thành Trung, a teacher at the center, said students are regularly practicing under timed conditions to improve time management and reinforce weaker areas of knowledge before the examination.

Alongside academic preparation, schools throughout the province have expanded psychological counseling efforts to help students manage exam-related stress.

Nguyễn Mạnh Thắng, a student at Chu Văn An High School for the Gifted in Bồng Sơn Ward, said the support provided by teachers has helped reduce pressure as he prepares for the examination.

"With the guidance and encouragement from my teachers, I no longer feel too pressured. I aim to apply for the Physics Education major and am working hard to achieve the best possible results", he said.

At Nguyễn Văn Cừ Secondary and High School in Bờ Ngoong Commune, where 155 students are registered for the exam, administrators are combining academic review with psychological support, particularly for ethnic minority students.

Principal Trương Quang Phong said teachers are encouraged to support and motivate students while avoiding additional pressure during the final preparation period.

"In addition to reviewing academic content, students are also guided in study skills, time management, and maintaining a stable mindset before the exam", Phong said.

Teachers noted that anxiety often increases as the examination approaches, even among high-achieving students. Homeroom teachers are therefore maintaining close contact with students, encouraging balanced study schedules, sufficient sleep and good health habits.

Parents are also playing an active role in supporting students during the final days before the examination. Many families are prioritizing emotional encouragement and a positive home environment over academic pressure.

Dương Ngọc Chánh, whose child is preparing for the exam, said maintaining health and mental well-being has become the family's main priority.

"What I care about most right now is my child's health and mental well-being. Our family always encourages him to stay relaxed and confident before the exam", Chánh said.

With only days remaining before the start of the 2026 National High School Graduation Exam, students across Gia Lai are entering the final stage of preparation equipped with reinforced knowledge, refined skills and a determination to achieve their best possible results.
