Since the launch of the campaign, convoys of relief vehicles have been continuously departing Gia Lai, carrying rice, instant noodles, milk, drinking water, clothing, and vegetables to provinces severely affected by Typhoon No. 10 (Bualoi), including Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Thai Nguyen.
According to the Gia Lai Red Cross, the call for aid received an immediate and enthusiastic response from both organizations and individuals. Among the first to act was Thanh Tam Transport in Hoi Phu Ward.
Representative Nguyen Van Tam, 31, said his team of three vehicles and ten members would leave on October 9, bringing essential supplies to several provinces. The group also prepared life jackets for safety and distribution to residents in flood-hit areas.
Sharing the same commitment, the Bach Mai Trang Red Cross Volunteer Club, under the provincial Red Cross, joined forces with the Hoai Nhon Nam Ward Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to organize a relief trip to Nong Cong Commune, Thanh Hoa Province.
Club leader Doan Thi Huong said the team would depart on October 10, delivering around 300 gift packages worth 800,000 VND (USD 31) each, including 200,000 VND (USD 7.80) in cash and essential goods, for local residents, along with 200 smaller packages worth 100,000 VND (USD 3.90) each for disadvantaged students. The total value of the aid exceeded 260 million VND (USD 10,100), excluding logistics costs.
This marks the club’s fourth relief trip in two months, following earlier missions to Dien Bien, Nghe An, and Lam Dong Provinces. For its members, these journeys represent not only material support but also solidarity with those enduring hardship.
Meanwhile, other communities have also joined the effort. On October 8, Vinh Thanh Primary School donated ten boxes of instant noodles, one box of cooking oil, one box of fish sauce, and three boxes of clothing to the provincial Red Cross.
School health officer Le Thi My Tan said teachers, staff, and even ethnic minority students contributed, sharing their old clothes as a gesture of compassion.
In another act of kindness, Nguyen Thi Hong Dan from Quy Nhon Nam Ward donated 500 kilograms of rice to flood victims through the Red Cross. “From North to Central to South, we are one family,” she said. “When I heard about the appeal, I wanted to share what I could so people can overcome these hardships soon.”
Expressing gratitude for the widespread support, Ha Van Cat, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Red Cross, said: “We deeply appreciate all contributions from organizations and individuals. The Red Cross will continue to call for more support, ensuring every donation reaches the right people and places.”
