Lê Phương Nghi, winner of the FTUCharm 2025 beauty pageant, on April 29 launched an environmental initiative aimed at children in Gia Lai, combining recycling activities with community support efforts.

The project, titled “Sowing seeds for the future,” was held at Nắng Hồng Kindergarten in Pleiku Ward and drew participation from more than 100 children. The programme focused on promoting environmental awareness through hands-on learning and creative engagement.

Children were divided into eight teams and tasked with producing recycled items using materials such as plastic bottles, paper and cardboard. Guided by teachers and volunteers, participants created a range of practical and inventive products, which were later showcased at the event.

Organisers awarded first, second and third prizes to teams with the most outstanding creations, aiming to encourage creativity while reinforcing environmental responsibility among young participants.

The programme also featured an exchange activity where children traded recycled products for succulent plants. More than 100 plants were distributed, designed to foster interest in waste sorting and recycling habits.

In addition, each child received a reusable water bottle to encourage reduced reliance on single-use plastics. The Áo dài Sống Xanh Pleiku Club contributed 100 fabric masks, promoting both health protection and the use of environmentally friendly products.

As part of the broader initiative, organisers also visited two disadvantaged families in Gia Lai Province. The families of Võ Minh Anh and Nguyễn Ngọc Nghĩa each received financial support of 1 million VND (approximately $40) along with essential supplies, aimed at encouraging the children to continue their education.

According to organisers, the project will expand from April 29, 2026, to additional schools and residential areas, with a focus on remote and disadvantaged communities in Gia Lai Province. The initiative seeks to create more experiential learning opportunities for children while promoting environmental protection, waste reduction and a spirit of community responsibility.
