The race, the final event of the festival, featured two categories: a 1,500-meter women’s race and a 3,000-meter men’s race. Both events started from the former Nhon Hai Commune People’s Committee headquarters.
The women’s course looped around the Hai Bac neighborhood roundabout, while the men’s route extended to Doc Nong before returning to the finish line.
Pham Thi Thuy Quynh of Team 4 won the women’s race, followed by teammate Nguyen Pham Xuan Trang in second place and Nguyen Vo Hanh Ngan of Team 5 in third.
In the men’s race, Nguyen Dang Hoang Nhat of Team 4 took first place. Nguyen Dao Hoang Nguyen and Huynh Huu Thuc, both from Team 6, secured second and third places, respectively.
Team 4 topped the women’s team standings, while Team 6 led the men’s team competition.
The sports festival, held for the first time in 2026, included five disciplines: tug of war, volleyball, football, Chinese chess and cross-country running.
Organisers said the event fostered community engagement and solidarity among local units, while also serving as a platform to identify athletes who will represent the ward at the inaugural Gia Lai Provincial Sports Festival in 2026.
