Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (HAGL) has signed a contract with the Western Highlands Agro-Forestry Scientific and Technical Institute (WASI) to provide technical consulting and supply 30 million high-quality Arabica and Robusta coffee seedlings, marking a major step in HAGL’s regional coffee expansion.

Under the agreement, WASI and its Eakmat Coffee Research and Technology Transfer Center will deliver the seedlings over two consecutive seasons from 2025 to 2027.

All seedlings will comply with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment’s standards, ensuring high yields, strong climate resilience, and superior bean quality.

The seedlings will be used to develop 10,000 hectares of coffee farms across Gia Lai province in Vietnam and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, forming the foundation for HAGL’s long-term coffee production strategy.

At the signing ceremony, attended by HAGL Chairman Đoàn Nguyên Đức and Phan Việt Hà, Acting Deputy Director of WASI, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sustainable, science-based agricultural practices.

Mr. Đức emphasized that the partnership represents a pivotal move in HAGL’s sustainable agriculture roadmap, aimed at producing coffee with modern, standardized methods for export under the HAGL brand.

He said the collaboration demonstrates a strong connection between scientific innovation and agricultural development while contributing to elevating the reputation of Vietnamese coffee on the global market.

The agreement highlights HAGL’s continued investment in high-quality, environmentally sustainable coffee production, expected to strengthen Vietnam’s position as one of the world’s leading coffee exporters.
