
The surge was driven by high global coffee prices, averaging $5,500 per ton, over 70% higher than the same period last year. Coffee remains Gia Lai’s key export, powering the province’s trade growth.
To sustain momentum, Gia Lai is developing a linked coffee production chain to boost productivity and quality.
Authorities are also investing in technological innovation across preliminary processing, preservation, and deep processing to raise product value.
The province is supporting businesses in expanding markets, finding partners, and leveraging free trade agreements to strengthen competitiveness and market reach.
Gia Lai currently cultivates over 107,400 hectares of coffee, including 56,691 hectares certified as organic, rainforest alliance, or 4C. The province produces more than 333,250 tons annually, with about 240,000 tons exported to 60 countries worldwide.
