The one-kilometer kayaking route winds through golden rice fields, tranquil villages, and limestone mountains, creating a poetic and picturesque scene. Each kayak costs around 200,000 VND (about USD 8) per hour for two people.
Available year-round, the best time for kayaking is from June to August, when the weather is mild and the air is cool.
Tourists can paddle along gentle river bends, enjoying the sight of local residents using bamboo rafts for fishing and transporting farm produce, an age-old tradition that reflects the region’s simple and peaceful lifestyle.
Lâm Bình is home to about ten ethnic groups, whose cultural diversity supports the growth of community-based, festival, spiritual, and adventure tourism.
Visitors can also swim for free in the natural stream, participate in fishing activities, and taste traditional cuisine prepared by ethnic communities.
Local authorities plan to expand and enhance the kayaking route by dredging the river, creating new check-in points, and adding rest stops to attract more visitors.
The development of Nặm Chang’s kayaking experience is seen as a key step in strengthening Lâm Bình’s position as a top destination for eco- and community-based tourism in northern Vietnam.
