Construction of the Cat Tien–Diem Van coastal road has reached a key milestone, with 10 out of 13.5 kilometers paved with crushed stone and nearly 86% of the 2025 provincial funding disbursed, according to the project’s management board.

The provincial management board for transport and civil projects, which oversees the development, said the road is expected to open for use by the second quarter of 2026. The project began in April 2022 and carries a total investment exceeding VND 2,674 billion (approx. USD 105 million).

Stretching 13.5 kilometers with a 20.5-meter-wide roadbed, the route includes nine large-scale bridges. Construction has been challenging due to complex terrain and weak soil foundations. Sections from Km1 to Km4 have faced significant subsidence, requiring extended remediation.

To address these difficulties, the management board has directed contractors to mobilize additional manpower, machinery, and materials, while maintaining strict inspection and quality control. The management board’s leaders are frequently present on-site to inspect progress and resolve issues promptly.

Contractors have also been supported through expedited payment procedures. Of the VND 291 billion (USD 11.4 million) allocated for 2025, VND 250 billion (USD 9.8 million) has already been disbursed, with the remainder to be settled by year-end.

The project involves two construction packages with 14 contractors, including major firms such as Deo Ca Group, 510 Construction Joint Stock Company, Tan Lap Co., Ltd., and Dai Thien Truong Joint Stock Company. Deo Ca Group, responsible for the section from Km7+70 to Km13+581 with a value of VND 700 billion (USD 27.5 million), has completed the crushed stone base and is preparing for asphalt paving.

Deputy Director of the management board, Ngo Anh Tuan, confirmed that all bridges and culverts have been completed and weak soil foundations treated. Asphalt paving is expected to begin in early 2026.

Thanks to unified efforts by the investor, contractors, and supervisory teams, all construction packages are currently on or ahead of schedule. The project is considered one of the province’s most significant infrastructure developments, expected to improve regional connectivity along the central coast once completed.
