Among them, Nguyễn Ngọc Anh Huy, a Grade 12 student at Hùng Vương High School for the Gifted, has distinguished himself through academic competitions and scientific research.
He secured second prize in the provincial excellent student competition, a consolation prize at the national level in Biology, and a bronze medal at the 30-4 Traditional Olympiad.
He also won first prize provincially and third prize nationally at the Science and Engineering Fair.
Huy’s standout project, applying deep learning models to classify colorectal cancer from histopathological images, reflects his focus on integrating theory with practice.
Developed over four months, the project uses artificial intelligence trained on image data to support diagnosis. He plans to enhance the model by incorporating Vietnamese data to improve accuracy and real-world applicability.
In parallel, Bùi Bảo Trân, a Grade 11 student at An Lão High School, has combined academic excellence with leadership. A top-performing student for 10 consecutive years, she also ranked first in her cohort in Grade 10 and continues to lead academically in Grade 11.
As Youth Union Secretary, Trân organizes extracurricular activities and promotes peer support initiatives, including a “Study Buddy” model that helps students improve academic performance. She is also active in volunteer work, supporting community services and fostering social responsibility among peers.
In sport, Nguyễn Hoàng Khôi Nguyên, a Grade 10 student at Sao Việt School, has emerged as a leading young swimmer. Beginning training at age five, he has gone on to win multiple medals, including two golds at the 2025 National Student Swimming Championships and seven golds and two silvers at national amateur club competitions.
Named the best amateur male swimmer in the 14–15 age group in 2025, Khôi Nguyên follows a rigorous training schedule, often training twice daily in preparation for major competitions. His performance at the 2024 National Phù Đổng Sports Festival marked a turning point, boosting his confidence after winning two bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Trần Giáp Phương Linh, a Grade 12 student at Lê Quý Đôn High School for the Gifted, stands out for her achievements across multiple disciplines. She has earned prizes in English competitions at both Grade 11 and Grade 12 levels, alongside accolades in debate and sports dance, including a championship title at Trường Teen 2025 and a Top 6 finish at the National High School Debate Championship.
Linh attributes her success to a learning approach focused on preparation and intellectual curiosity rather than results alone. Alongside academics, she leads the school’s Olympia Club and maintains her long-term involvement in sports dance, balancing multiple pursuits through disciplined time management.
Together, these students highlight the diverse pathways to excellence within Gia Lai’s education system, combining academic achievement with initiative, creativity and resilience.
