Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (HAGL) has committed to a three-year sponsorship agreement for Champasak HAGL Avenir FC, strengthening its presence in Laos through investments in football development and agriculture.

The agreement was signed on June 11 in Pakse City, Champasak Province, between HAGL, the Champasak Provincial Football Federation and Connected Sole Co. Ltd. as part of a strategic cooperation partnership and the club’s brand repositioning initiative.

Nguyễn Chí Thắng, Deputy General Director of HAGL Group in Laos, said HAGL Chairman Đoàn Nguyên Đức had pledged to serve as the club’s main sponsor for the next three years. The company will also donate 1,000 footballs to support grassroots football activities across Champasak Province.

As part of its support for football development in the region, HAGL will host the Laos national football team at its Ham Rong Training Center in Vietnam’s Gia Lai Province from July 1 to July 15, 2026, to help the team prepare for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026.

Keolattana Sihavong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and President of the Champasak Provincial Football Federation, said HAGL’s investment would provide the club with stable financial backing, enabling it to compete with leading teams in the country and pursue the Lao League 1 title.

Lee Dong Jun, Director of South Korea’s DJ Management, described the partnership as an important milestone for football development in Champasak Province.

He said the project represented cooperation between Laos, Vietnam and South Korea, aimed at creating new opportunities to advance football across Southeast Asia.

Lee also expressed confidence that, with HAGL’s financial support and backing from provincial authorities, the club could challenge for domestic honours and eventually represent Laos in Asian club competitions.

Beyond its football commitments, HAGL is set to expand its agricultural investments in Champasak Province. Under an agreement with provincial authorities, the company plans to begin land clearance and plant 1,500 hectares of coffee in 2026.

HAGL will then complete the development of a total of 5,000 hectares of coffee plantations over the following two years, from 2027 to 2028.
