Press Center for the 14th National Party Congress Officially Opens

On the afternoon of January 14, the Press Center for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam was officially inaugurated at the My Dinh National Convention Center. This marks one of the opening events in the series of key activities at the 14th National Party Congress.

Attending the opening ceremony were the following officials: Trần Cẩm Tú – Member of the Politburo, Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Organizing Subcommittee for the 14th National Party Congress; Nguyễn Xuân Thắng – Member of the Politburo, President of the Hồ Chí Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Trịnh Văn Quyết – Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization; Lê Hoài Trung – Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Lại Xuân Môn – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, Director of the Press Center for the 14th National Party Congress, along with other members of the Party Central Committee, and representatives from central and local ministries, departments, and agencies.

Immediately after the issuance of Conclusion No. 01 dated May 3, 2024, by the Organizing Subcommittee for the 14th National Party Congress regarding the assignment of tasks for the Congress, the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization proactively and actively implemented related tasks to establish the Press Center (the Center).

In recent times, preparations for organizing and operating the Center have been carried out in a scientific, methodical, and thorough manner by relevant agencies. The Center is equipped with modern and comprehensive facilities and technical infrastructure, including high-speed internet, over 150 laptops and desktop computers, 10 printers, 2 fax machines, and 10 large-screen televisions, providing optimal conditions for media operations and coverage of the Congress.

As of now, 597 reporters and technicians from 113 domestic media agencies, along with 79 reporters and press assistants from 43 foreign news agencies, overseas Vietnamese journalists, and journalists from political parties and participating parties, have registered to cover the Congress.

The Press Center has coordinated with relevant agencies to facilitate the participation and operations of media organizations at the Congress, especially key national media outlets such as Vietnam Television (VTV), Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Vietnam News Agency (VNA), and Nhân Dân Newspaper, enabling them to fulfill their roles as host media, providing clean television and radio signals, and supplying images for media exploitation and dissemination of information about the 14th National Party Congress.

At the same time, plans have been developed to arrange and regulate the activities of reporters at the Press Center and within the Congress Hall, ensuring timely, scientific, dignified, and orderly recording, photography, and audio capture, thereby guaranteeing fast, accurate, and comprehensive information to meet all requirements.

Regarding information and communication about the 14th National Party Congress, Lại Xuân Môn, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, stated: Information and communication about the 14th National Party Congress in the media have been implemented comprehensively and widely, creating a strong and positive impact in society regarding this historic and pivotal Congress for the nation.

The media has focused on highlighting the achievements of the 13th Congress term, the country’s accomplishments after 40 years of đổi mới (renewal), and has extensively covered the seven resolutions of the Politburo, which reflect innovative thinking and breakthrough vision for national development. The press has also emphasized positive assessments from the international community and media regarding Vietnam’s robust development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past 40 years, especially during the 13th Congress term, and has captured the enthusiastic and optimistic atmosphere among officials, Party members, and all strata of the people towards this significant political event of the country and the nation.

Immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Press Center of the 14th National Party Congress, an International Press Conference on the 14th National Party Congress was held. The presiding officials provided information and answered questions from domestic and international journalists on topics related to the Congress, such as: the outstanding political significance and new fundamental points in thinking, vision, and strategic orientation compared to previous Congresses; the core and important contents of the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th Congress; the working regulations and personnel matters of the Congress; and the working conditions for journalists at the Press Center of the 14th Congress, among others.

Speaking at the press conference, Trần Cẩm Tú, Member of the Politburo and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, acknowledged and highly appreciated the dedication and responsibility of journalists from domestic and international news agencies in their coverage and communication about the 14th National Party Congress.

He also emphasized that information and communication about the 14th National Party Congress had been launched early, with specific plans, in a spirit of openness, transparency, democracy, and objectivity, accurately reflecting the Party’s determination and the aspirations of officials, Party members, and the people. This has created a highlight and impression, contributing to strengthening the confidence of officials, Party members, and the people in the Congress, fostering unity within the Party and consensus in society.

The Permanent Member of the Secretariat requested that the Press Center for the 14th National Party Congress provide the best possible conditions in terms of infrastructure, technology, information, and coordination to enable domestic and international journalists to effectively carry out their communication work, thereby amplifying the impact of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Prior to the opening ceremony of the Press Center and the International Press Conference on the 14th National Party Congress, Party and State leaders, along with a large number of delegates, visited the exhibition “From Congress to Congress”; the book and newspaper display area; the photo exhibition area “Under the Party’s Flag, the Country Advances into a New Era”; and attended the special release ceremony of a commemorative postage stamp set celebrating the 14th National Party Congress.
