The ceremony was attended by Mr. Rishi Varma, Vice President of Cargill and President of Cargill Asia Pacific; Mr. Nguyễn Bá Luân, Chief Representative of Cargill in Vietnam; and representatives from provincial departments and local authorities.
Built with an investment of VND 4.5 billion (approximately USD 176,000), the Yăng Village School includes five classrooms, a library, a staff room, a sanitation area, and a playground enclosed by a perimeter fence. The school serves 131 students and nine teachers.
The project marks the 125th school completed under the Cargill Cares Foundation’s school construction program in Vietnam. The initiative aims to reach 150 schools nationwide by 2030, underscoring Cargill’s long-term commitment to community development and education.
In Gia Lai province alone, this is the fifth school sponsored by the foundation, following previous projects in the districts of Hoài Ân, Mang Yang, Tây Sơn, and Phù Cát.
Beyond education, Cargill Vietnam has contributed billions of dong to disaster relief and disease control, as well as providing animal feed, livestock, and financial aid to farmers impacted by natural disasters.
To commemorate the inauguration, Cargill leaders and delegates planted trees on the school grounds.
