Two artists from Gia Lai province have won consolation prizes at national-level fine arts awards in 2025, the local Fine Arts Association said on January 5.

Nguyễn Vinh, Deputy Head of the Gia Lai Fine Arts Association, said painter Nguyễn Văn Chung and sculptor Nguyễn Nam were recognised in separate competitions organised by leading national arts bodies.

Nguyễn Văn Chung received a consolation prize from the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities for his woodcut Lệ rừng (“Forest Tears”). The work draws inspiration from the Central Highlands and delivers a warning about deforestation.
