Gia Lai officials host livestream drive to boost farm sales via e-commerce

Authorities in Gia Lai province have launched a livestream campaign aimed at accelerating agricultural sales by connecting local producers with e-commerce platforms, officials said on April 24.

Digital Technology Development, brought together government representatives, businesses, cooperatives and farmers in Hoi Phu Ward.

Two large-scale livestream sessions showcased more than 50 agricultural products from 26 participating units, highlighting the province’s key produce while offering promotions to attract online buyers nationwide.

The morning session, hosted by Trương Hồ Phương Nga, Miss Vietnam in Russia 2007, focused on introducing signature local products. An afternoon session, led by content creator Tiêu Hoàng Minh (Min Mặn Mồi), boosted engagement through discount codes and free shipping offers on TikTok Shop.

Nguyễn Đình Kha, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said livestreaming is emerging as a critical tool for businesses and cooperatives to access markets more quickly and efficiently.

“Livestreaming is not only a trend but an important solution to promote sustainable consumption of agricultural products,” Kha said, adding that authorities would continue supporting trade promotion and market expansion efforts.

Several products sold out during the event as orders surged, reflecting strong consumer demand and helping broaden the market reach for Gia Lai’s agricultural sector.
