Gia Lai approves $184-mln wind power project for VinEnergo

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province has approved VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company as the investor for the Vinh Thuan Wind Power Plant, a project valued at VND 4,679 billion (about $184 million).

The wind power facility will be built in Vinh Quang Commune on an area of about 50 hectares. The plant is designed with a capacity of 143 MW and is expected to generate around 240 million kWh of electricity annually.

According to the provincial authority, the project’s preliminary compensation, support and resettlement costs are estimated at more than VND 33.8 billion (about $1.33 million), while the preliminary construction cost is over VND 4,645 billion (about $182.7 million).

The project is scheduled to be completed within three years from the date the investor is officially recognized as the project owner. Its operational lifespan is set at 50 years.

VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company holds Business Registration Certificate No. 0110983521, first issued by the Business Registration and Corporate Finance Office under the Hanoi Department of Finance on March 10, 2025, and amended for the fifth time on Dec. 1, 2025.

The company’s headquarters is located at the Symphony Office Building on Chu Huy Mân Street in the Vinhomes Riverside urban area, Phuc Loi Ward, Hanoi.
