Gia Lai province recorded 2,739 newly established enterprises in the first nine months of 2026, up about 19.13% from the same period last year, with total registered capital reaching VND 40,154 billion (about US$1.52 billion), an increase of approximately 135%.

The figures were reported by Dinh Huu Hoa, deputy director of the Gia Lai Department of Finance.

The province has also accelerated the processing of new business registration applications by expanding the use of information technology in administrative procedures.

The time required to issue a new business registration certificate has been reduced from three days to about three working hours, according to the department.

The shorter processing time is intended to reduce travel and other costs for businesses, allowing them to enter the market sooner and pursue investment and business opportunities more quickly.

Gia Lai considers the private sector a key driver of the provincial economy, with an important role in industrialization and modernization, job creation, economic growth and improving the province’s competitiveness.

Authorities are therefore stepping up administrative reforms and efforts to create a more open investment environment, while supporting businesses in accessing land, credit and high-quality human resources.

The province is also providing advice and guidance to household businesses seeking to transition into enterprises. It is facilitating links among private companies, state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested companies through investment promotion conferences and business forums.

The Gia Lai Tax Department and Quy Nhon Port Customs are also accelerating digital transformation and modernizing their management systems while implementing government support policies for businesses.

At the same time, Gia Lai is promoting investment more actively and flexibly, encouraging businesses to register and implement new projects in sectors identified as having potential and advantages under the province’s development planning.

The province aims to have 60,000 to 65,000 active enterprises by 2030.

It also targets average annual private-sector growth of 9.5% to 11.5%, with the sector expected to contribute about 55% to 60% of local GRDP and approximately 35% to 40% of total budget revenue.

The private sector is also expected to generate jobs for around 80% to 85% of Gia Lai’s workforce.
