Vietnam’s Gia Lai province is seeking to deepen ties with Australian investors in renewable energy, transport infrastructure, seaports and logistics as it looks to capitalize on its expanded development space and strategic location.

A provincial delegation met Tribeca Investment Partners, an international consulting and investment fund, in Sydney on Sept. 29 as part of Gia Lai’s investment, trade and tourism promotion program in Australia.

The delegation was led by Thái Đại Ngọc, a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee.

At the meeting, Gia Lai officials outlined the province’s development potential, competitive advantages and investment priorities, while discussing opportunities to connect with Australian investors.

Following administrative reorganization, Gia Lai is Vietnam’s second-largest province by area and has a population of more than 3.5 million.

Its location links the Central Coast with the Central Highlands and provides a short route to the East Sea for the Central Highlands, southern Laos and northeastern Cambodia.

The province is home to the Nhơn Hội Economic Zone, the Lệ Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone, several industrial parks, two airports and a seaport network.

The Quy Nhơn-Pleiku Expressway and Phù Mỹ Port are under construction, with the projects expected to strengthen links between raw-material areas, production centers and seaports.

Gia Lai asked Tribeca Investment Partners to help connect the province with investors suited to its priority sectors, particularly renewable energy, transport infrastructure, seaports and logistics.

Tribeca Investment Partners representatives highlighted Gia Lai’s development potential and the connectivity between its raw-material areas, production facilities, transport infrastructure and seaports. They identified agriculture, energy, infrastructure and logistics as sectors with investment potential.

The two sides also discussed investment incentives and cooperation mechanisms, priority sectors for proposed projects, infrastructure requirements and sources of capital and credit.

Mr. Thái Đại Ngọc provided further information on provincial planning, available land, infrastructure and proposed projects.

He said Gia Lai’s approach to foreign investment was proactive and selective, with project quality, efficiency, technology and environmental protection among its key assessment criteria.

He called on Tribeca Investment Partners to identify suitable sectors for further engagement, with the aim of turning initial opportunities into viable investment projects.

Gia Lai said it would facilitate investment by improving infrastructure, reforming administrative procedures, streamlining investment processes and strengthening workforce quality. The province also plans to designate focal points to assist investors with field surveys and the exploration of potential cooperation opportunities.

Founded in 1998, Tribeca Investment Partners operates in asset management, with investment strategies spanning equities, credit, natural resources, energy, agricultural products, and the carbon market. These are sectors that align with Gia Lai’s current investment attraction priorities.
