The agreement was signed by the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee and Hung Vuong University, with Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang and Acting Vice Rector Tran Viet Anh attending, alongside representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will collaborate over the next five years across four priority areas: scientific research and technology transfer; digital transformation encompassing the digital economy, artificial intelligence and big data; innovation and entrepreneurship; and the training and development of high-quality human resources.
The partnership is designed to create a bilateral support “ecosystem”, in which Gia Lai will provide an experimental environment and policy mechanisms, while Hung Vuong University contributes expert teams and advanced technological solutions.
Dr. Tran Viet Anh said Gia Lai holds strategic importance for the university, underscoring a commitment to applied engagement beyond academic training. He said the university will deploy experts to work directly with local agencies to develop shared data systems supporting sustainable economic management.
Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang said the agreement is expected to deliver a tangible boost to the province’s science and technology capacity, describing it as a breakthrough initiative rather than a routine cooperation. He highlighted Gia Lai’s young, digitally proficient workforce as a key advantage in accelerating progress.
To ensure effective implementation, Lam Hai Giang assigned the provincial Department of Science and Technology as the coordinating body responsible for executing the agreement’s commitments.
