The agreement was formalized during a working session chaired by Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang, with representatives from key provincial departments and agencies in attendance.
Under the deal, the two sides will collaborate in several priority areas: training and capacity building for officials and public employees; policy consulting, research, and evaluation; scientific research and innovation; digital transformation; smart-city development; and expanding international cooperation in education and research.
UEH representatives committed to designing training programs tailored to Gia Lai’s needs, including postgraduate and short-term courses. The university said it would support improving the effectiveness of commune-level officials as the province shifts to a two-tier local government model.
Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang praised UEH’s research and training capacity, noting its strengths in master’s programs and practical courses tailored to local requirements. He highlighted Gia Lai’s potential in tourism, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and several major upcoming projects, stressing the need for a workforce aligned with new development demands.
He called on provincial departments to work closely with UEH to ensure effective implementation of the agreement and to support the province’s broader socio-economic goals.
Officials said the partnership is expected to boost scientific research, policy consulting, and new socio-economic development models, enhancing Gia Lai’s competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
