The province presented its investment potential and development priorities at a seminar with the Taiwan Business Association in Vietnam in East Quy Nhon Ward on September 12.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, said cooperation between Gia Lai and Taiwanese businesses had delivered notable initial results.
Gia Lai currently hosts three projects funded by Taiwanese investors, with total registered capital exceeding $24.2 million, mainly in industrial, manufacturing and processing sectors.
Trade between Gia Lai and the Taiwanese market reached nearly $39.8 million in import-export turnover in the first eight months of 2026, according to the provincial government.
The seminar, attended by provincial officials, business associations and Taiwanese business representatives, featured a video presentation highlighting Gia Lai’s development potential, advantages, priority sectors and investment opportunities.
A representative of Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park also introduced investment opportunities and advantages in the province’s industrial zones.
Thanh said Gia Lai offered substantial room for development by combining the advantages of the Central Highlands and South Central Coast, with the capacity to connect raw-material areas and production centers with transport networks, logistics, seaports and export markets.
The province has strengths in agriculture, forestry, renewable energy, processing and manufacturing, tourism and services, while also seeing potential in industrial parks and clusters, logistics and export-oriented value chains.
Gia Lai is particularly seeking cooperation with Taiwanese businesses in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, processing and manufacturing, supporting industries, agro-forestry-aquatic product processing, high-tech agriculture, clean energy, logistics, industrial park and cluster infrastructure, trade, services and tourism.
The province is also encouraging projects that can link Taiwanese businesses with local enterprises, connect raw-material areas with processing facilities and integrate production with logistics and export activities.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh said Gia Lai regarded businesses and investors as key partners in the province’s development and pledged to support them under a “guidance, facilitation, partnership” approach.
Hong Chi Hoa, Chairman of the Taiwan Business Association in Vietnam, said the investment promotion seminar provided an effective platform for Taiwanese businesses from across Vietnam to engage directly with Gia Lai and learn about its latest investment policies and competitive advantages.
The association will continue to act as a bridge between Taiwanese businesses and authorities at all levels in Vietnam, supporting members in expanding business and investment opportunities, with Gia Lai among its investment priorities.
