The exhibition, held in Tây Sơn commune, was organized to mark International Museum Day and commemorate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh on May 19. It also forms part of activities supporting the National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026.
Attendees at the opening ceremony included representatives from the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, officers and soldiers from National Military Training Center 2, local commune leaders, and students from Quang Trung High School No. 1 and Nguyễn Huệ High School No. 1.
The exhibition is divided into four themes: Homeland and Family; Tây Sơn Thượng Đạo – The Land of Gathering Forces; Tây Sơn Hạ Đạo – Marks of Military Triumph; and the Preservation and Promotion of Tây Sơn Era Heritage.
A central focus of the exhibition is the historical connection between Tây Sơn Thượng Đạo, regarded as the birthplace of the Tây Sơn insurgent forces, and Tây Sơn Hạ Đạo, where major victories were achieved and the Tây Sơn dynasty was established.
Through the collection, visitors can explore historical sites linked to the Tây Sơn brothers — Nguyễn Nhạc, Nguyễn Huệ and Nguyễn Lữ — including Tây Sơn Tam Kiệt Temple, Gò Lăng, An Khê School, Cửu An Communal House, Xà Shrine, Đài Kính Thiên, Hoàng Đế Citadel, Gò Kho and Đạm Thủy Lagoon.
The exhibition also recreates the cultural environment in which the three brothers grew up through images of their parents’ temple, ancient wells, old tamarind trees and the place where teacher Hiến instructed them in literature and martial arts.
Organizers said the displays aim to illustrate how family traditions, martial arts and a strong sense of righteousness helped shape the foundations of the later Tây Sơn uprising.
Another section of the exhibition highlights efforts to preserve and promote Tây Sơn heritage in contemporary society, featuring images of the Ngọc Hồi – Đống Đa Victory Festival, student visits to historical sites, Tây Sơn martial arts music performances and monument restoration projects.
In addition to the archival collection, visitors can scan QR codes to access information about historical sites and explore a display area featuring souvenirs associated with Tây Sơn culture.
The exhibition runs from May 17 to 21 and is intended to reconnect the public with historical sites and relics linked to the Tây Sơn peasant movement and the Tây Sơn Tam Kiệt while promoting heritage values and patriotic traditions.
