Vietnam’s “To the red land” exhibition showcases female artists from across the country

The Gia Lai Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, in partnership with the Pleiku Museum, has opened a national exhibition spotlighting female painters from northern, central, and southern Vietnam.

The event, titled “To the red land” (Về miền đất đỏ), celebrates women’s artistic achievements and marks the 95th anniversary of Vietnamese Women’s Day.

Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch attended the opening ceremony, along with leaders of provincial departments and 30 female artists from across the country.

In her remarks, Lịch expressed gratitude to the artists for bringing a vibrant cultural experience to Gia Lai, calling the event a meaningful highlight for the province’s artistic landscape.

She emphasized Gia Lai’s unique position as “a place where forests and seas converge,” offering new opportunities for sustainable cultural and tourism development.

The Vice Chairwoman affirmed the province’s continued support for creative initiatives and invited artists nationwide to consider Gia Lai as a destination for inspiration and cultural exchange.

Now in its 11th year, “To the red land” marks the first time this traveling exhibition has arrived in Gia Lai. The showcase features a diverse collection of works across various mediums, oil, lacquer, silk, and dó paper, covering themes from landscapes and daily life to festivals and portraits.

Art enthusiasts visiting the Pleiku Museum can meet participating painters and explore a wide range of artistic styles reflecting Vietnam’s regional diversity. The exhibition will remain open to the public until November 10, 2025.
