The WeChoice Awards 2025 on February 7 honored individuals, artists and organizations whose work shaped Vietnam’s social and cultural landscape over the past year, spotlighting resilience, compassion and national pride.
At the ceremony, organizers emphasized the theme “Continuing the Vietnamese story”, reflecting the shared mission of all nominees: spreading positivity and reinforcing confidence in the country’s contemporary values.
Twenty-one nominees were shortlisted for the Inspirational Figure category. From this group, 10 honorees were recognized, including community advocate Vàng Thị Thông, striker Đình Bắc of the Vietnam U23 team, singers Đức Phúc and Phương Mỹ Chi, songwriter Nguyễn Văn Chung, teacher Đinh Thị Kim Phấn, coach Mai Đức Chung, the fetal cardiac intervention team from Children’s Hospital 1 and Từ Dũ Hospital, artist Ngô Phong (Phong Punk), and the Vietnamese women’s Liên Quân Mobile team.
The judging panel awarded the title Inspirational Ambassador to five recipients: the fetal cardiac intervention team, teacher Đinh Thị Kim Phấn, the "Mưa Đỏ" film crew, Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Huy, and coach Mai Đức Chung.
In the For My Vietnam project category, the political-artistic program “Tổ quốc trong tim” by Nhân Dân Newspaper received top honors.
The entertainment categories reflected strong public interest. The film “Mưa đỏ” (Red Rain), directed by Đặng Thái Huyền and written by Chu Lai, inspired by the 81-day defense of Quảng Trị Citadel in 1972, was named Film of the Year. Released during Vietnam’s National Day anniversary, it became a box office milestone, grossing more than 700 billion VND (approx. USD 28 million) and setting a new record for domestic cinema. Actor Steven Nguyễn, who starred in the film, was named Most Favorite Actor.
Artist Soobin received the Most Favorite Singer/Rapper award, while the competition show “Tân binh toàn năng” (All-round rookie) was named Entertainment Show of the Year for its comprehensive training approach to developing young Vietnamese idols. The hit “Mục hạ vô nhân” by Soobin, BinZ and People’s Artist Huỳnh Tú won Song of the Year.

The For My Vietnam category also recognized the “Not Alone” campaign and the “Proud of Vietnam” campaign.
Five initiatives received the Inspirational CSR Project award: the Saigon River pedestrian bridge project, Haha Family, Vietnamese Family Shelter, Viet Nam Love, and the UpRace community running project.
The Reaching Out to the World award honored 15 enterprises, highlighting their contributions to elevating Vietnam’s presence on the global stage.
