(GLO) - Just 30 minutes by speedboat from Quy Nhơn, the island of Cù Lao Xanh (Nhơn Châu commune) is emerging as a tranquil getaway that blends pristine landscapes, cultural heritage, and heartfelt hospitality.

The two-day, one-night trip to the island offers visitors not only breathtaking natural scenery but also meaningful moments to reconnect with family and friends.

Despite gradual tourism development, Nhơn Châu has retained its rustic charm, setting it apart from Vietnam’s busier coastal destinations.

Natural beauty and unique landscapes

Cù Lao Xanh, located 13 nautical miles offshore, greets travelers with emerald waters, small hillside houses, a towering lighthouse, and anchored fishing boats that complete its picturesque view. Visitors can easily walk from the dock to local homestays, where they are welcomed with refreshing lemonade and warm smiles.

The island’s Thảo Nguyên rocky beach showcases striking rock formations sculpted by sea and time, while Bãi Bổn beach offers clear waters for swimming and snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs and schools of fish.

Cultural experiences and local cuisine

Evenings on Cù Lao Xanh often feature beachside barbecues, fresh seafood, and campfires accompanied by guitar music and ocean waves. Local specialties, including golden squid pancakes, highlight the island’s culinary identity.

At dawn, visitors can join residents in a flag-raising ceremony beneath Vietnam’s red-and-yellow flag, where the national anthem resonates across the shoreline. The experience fosters a sense of pride and unity among locals and travelers alike.

Historic lighthouse and island legacy

A highlight of the journey is the Nhơn Châu Lighthouse, built by the French in 1890. Standing more than 20 meters tall, it continues to serve as a maritime guide.

From its summit, panoramic views of the ocean reveal both the immensity of nature and the resilience of the community.

Known as the “emerald island,” it is increasingly recognized not only as a tourist destination but also as a symbol of harmony between people and nature.
