The Gia Lai Provincial Farmers’ Association on December 23 convened a review conference in Quy Nhon Ward to assess the 2025 incubation program supporting innovative startup ideas and projects by local farmers.

The program, implemented in partnership with the provincial Department of Science and Technology, aims to help farmers build sustainable business models through a structured and research-driven incubation process.

Five projects were selected for implementation across five communes and wards, including indoor green crab farming in plastic containers; intensive cultivation of organic-standard Siamese coconut; Nhan Tam cordyceps wine; clean-oriented hybrid wild boar farming and breeding; and high-quality clean mushroom cultivation.

Officials said selecting strong projects at the outset has streamlined the incubation effort, enabling project owners to focus on shaping business models, improving market positioning, and strengthening management capacity.

The Center for Science Discovery and Innovation, under the Department of Science and Technology, together with faculty advisors from Quy Nhon University’s Faculty of Finance, Banking, and Business Administration, provided technical guidance throughout the program.

Through this collaboration, participating teams received training on business model development, financial management, market analysis, product design, and long-term strategic planning.

Delegates at the conference reviewed shortcomings and agreed on priorities for 2026. The Farmers’ Association proposed continued coordination with the Center for Science Discovery and Innovation, along with expanded technical support and stronger resource mobilization to improve the program’s overall impact.

Participants also recommended extending the minimum incubation period to six months to allow more time for product refinement, market testing, and business model optimization, with the goal of increasing project quality and success rates.
