Gia Lai marks 60th anniversary of historic Plei Me Victory

Gia Lai province on November 19 held a solemn ceremony at Kpă Klơng Square in Chư Prông commune to mark the 60th anniversary of the Plei Me Victory (1965-2025), reaffirming the historic event’s significance in the resistance war against the United States for national salvation.

The Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized the commemoration, underscoring the courageous and innovative fighting spirit of the Vietnamese military and people during the campaign.

Leaders highlighted the unity and resilience that contributed to the victory and continue to shape the province’s development today.

The ceremony also celebrated the achievements of Gia Lai over the six decades since the battle, aiming to strengthen patriotism and pride among local people, particularly the younger generation.

As part of the event, delegates toured an exhibition of photographs, documents, and artifacts showcasing the Plei Me campaign of 1965.

The anniversary ceremony was broadcast live on GTV’s channel and livestreamed on the official platforms of Gia Lai Newspaper and Radio-Television at 8 a.m. at the same day.
