At a press briefing co-chaired by Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Đỗ Thị Diệu Hạnh, officials detailed operational plans for media coverage of the opening events, expected to draw around 130 domestic and 36 international journalists.
Representatives from provincial departments and local media attended the meeting, where journalists urged authorities to facilitate reporting conditions to ensure timely and comprehensive information delivery. Questions focused on preparations for infrastructure, transport and accommodation ahead of the opening ceremonies.
Providing an update at the briefing, Đỗ Thị Diệu Hạnh outlined plans to coordinate media activities throughout the event series, which will be organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, alongside various provinces and Gia Lai.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch thanked media organisations for promoting the province’s image and emphasised the significance of hosting the National Tourism Year. Following an administrative merger, she said, Gia Lai now features both coastal and forested landscapes, as well as diverse ethnic cultures, enabling the development of varied tourism products.
She added that the event presents an opportunity to attract new waves of visitors, supporting the province’s tourism sector and broader socio-economic growth.
The programme will also include key initiatives linked to development goals, such as the Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference, the Gia Lai Tourism Economic Development Forum 2026, and cooperation agreement signings with four southern Lao provinces and three northeastern Cambodian provinces.
With a substantial number of activities planned, provincial authorities called on media agencies to continue supporting communication efforts to maximise the impact of the National Tourism Year 2026.
