Gia Lai Province and the Vietnam Tourism Association have agreed on a series of strategic cooperation initiatives to prepare for Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2026.

Under the agreement, Gia Lai will participate in the VITM 2026 International Tourism Fair in Hanoi from April 9–12 with a dedicated “Gia Lai Tourism House” booth, and jointly host a seminar to promote local destinations and the National Tourism Year.

Vietnam Travel Day 2026 is also expected to be held in September in Quy Nhơn, attracting around 150 international travel firms from more than 15 countries and 200 domestic operators. The event is set to become a major marketplace for expanding tourism partnerships and strengthening regional connectivity.

The Vietnam Tourism Association committed to supporting Gia Lai in strengthening its tourism human resources through training programs in tour operations, hotel management, housekeeping, and digital and green transformation for business leaders.

Both sides will collaborate on surveying and developing new tourism products reflecting the province’s natural and cultural assets, including those shaped by recent administrative mergers.

The Association will also advise and evaluate eligible local enterprises for the VITA GREEN eco-tourism label, based on its green tourism criteria.

Chairman Vũ Thế Bình emphasized that Gia Lai must focus on four priorities to ensure the tourism sector “takes off” as it hosts the National Tourism Year 2026: formulating policies aligned with the post-merger context, developing distinctive and competitive tourism products, upgrading workforce capacity, and implementing strong promotion strategies targeting major domestic hubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Hai Phong, as well as key overseas markets including South Korea and Japan.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch underscored that 2026 is a pivotal year for Gia Lai, calling the event an opportunity to elevate the province’s profile, upgrade infrastructure, and improve product and service quality.

She requested continued support from the Association in policy development, tourism product creation, workforce training, and connecting domestic and international travel companies, along with communications and promotion at major tourism events.
