Accommodation demand rose sharply nationwide, with average occupancy reaching 55–60%. Major destinations reported near-full capacity: Phu Quoc at about 95%, Sa Pa at 90–95%, and Da Lat and Phan Thiet at 80–90%.
International tourist numbers showed strong growth across key cities. Da Nang welcomed an estimated 510,000 international arrivals, up 32%, while Hue saw a sharp rise to 238,200, up 207%. Hanoi received 217,000 international visitors, a 55% increase, and Ho Chi Minh City registered about 170,000, up 51.7%. Several provinces reported that foreign arrivals matched or surpassed domestic travelers, reflecting Vietnam’s strengthening position in the global tourism market.
Authorities attribute the surge to improved visa policies, expanded promotional activities and efforts by localities and tourism businesses to diversify products.
Domestic tourism also grew, with bookings for local tours rising 15–20% year-on-year. Travellers increasingly sought personalised experiences, cultural immersion and longer-stay itineraries instead of short, multi-stop trips.
Ho Chi Minh City reported 4.32 million visitors, up 35%, with tourism revenue estimated at VND 12,150 billion (approx. USD 480 million), a 42.9% increase. Hotels operated at about 75% occupancy, while river cruises, double-decker bus tours and Tet-themed attractions drew large crowds.
In Ninh Binh, tourist arrivals reached 1.85 million over seven days, including more than 300,000 international visitors.
Hanoi received 1.34 million visitors, up 36.3%, with revenue estimated at VND 4,870 billion (approx. USD 192 million). Occupancy at four- and five-star hotels surpassed 72%, boosted by events such as the “Happy Tet 2026” programme, Old Quarter Spring Flower Market and early-spring festivals.
Da Nang recorded 1.1 million visitors, up 27%, generating revenue of VND 3,960 billion (approx. USD 156 million). Tet markets, cultural performances and “Traditional Tet Space” activities were held throughout the holiday.
Khanh Hoa saw 1.055 million visitors and revenue of VND 2,200 billion (approx. USD 87 million), up more than 62%.
Other provinces also reported strong tourism flows. An Giang welcomed 1.7 million visitors, earning VND 2,622 billion (approx. USD 103 million), up nearly 40%. Lam Dong received around 910,000 visitors with 75–80% room occupancy, while Quang Ninh attracted nearly 800,000 tourists during the seven-day period.
