The afternoon of March 5 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van and Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich co-chaired an international press conference on the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026.

The National Tourism Year 2026, themed “Gia Lai – Great Forest Meets Blue Sea,” is expected to make a significant mark by connecting the Central Highlands with the sea and islands. The highlight of the event will be the development of tourism products based on cultural heritage values, such as the gong cultural space, epics, and the cultural life of local ethnic communities, offering visitors unique and memorable experiences.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngô Lê Văn emphasized that the National Tourism Year 2026 presents an important opportunity to promote the image, people, and distinctive cultural values of Gia Lai Province to both domestic and international audiences.

At the press conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch provided an overview of Gia Lai’s land and people, as well as the province’s orientation towards in-depth tourism development. She stressed the importance of linking conservation efforts with the effective exploitation of traditional cultural values to create a distinctive identity for Gia Lai tourism.

Through the National Tourism Year 2026, the province aims to tell stories about its culture, people, and local specialties, thereby shaping unique tourism products to attract visitors. At the same time, Gia Lai will continue to improve infrastructure, enhance service quality, and build a friendly, professional destination image, with a view toward sustainable tourism development in the coming years.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch also shared details about the project, logo, and brand identity for the National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026, as well as key events within the framework of the National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026 and the Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference 2026.

According to the plan, the National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026 will feature 244 cultural, tourism, and sports events. The opening ceremony, themed “Great Forest Meets Blue Sea,” will take place in Quy Nhơn Ward, Gia Lai Province, on March 28, 2026, and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) as well as Gia Lai Radio and Television (GTV). In addition to an elaborate art program titled “Gia Lai – Great Forest Meets Blue Sea,” the event will also include a fireworks display.

The provincial People’s Committee calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign news agencies, international journalists, and press attachés from foreign representative offices in Vietnam to support and promote the main activities and side events of the National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026, as well as the series of events during the Opening Week and the Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference 2026.
