At a meeting on March 18, chaired by Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Pham Anh Tuan, departments reported that preparations are being implemented in line with the approved plan, covering programme content, infrastructure and operational coordination.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said it has finalised the opening ceremony script, stage design and overall event layout, alongside plans for security, healthcare and environmental sanitation.
Organisers have also secured power supply arrangements, coordinating with relevant units to ensure stable electricity through grid connections and backup generators for the duration of the programme.
Speaking at the meeting, Tuan described tourism as a key pillar of the provincial economy and said the opening programme must create a distinctive and lasting impression to promote Gia Lai’s image.
Authorities are prioritising food safety and medical preparedness, particularly as large crowds are expected to gather at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square on the evening of March 28.
The Department of Industry and Trade has been tasked with monitoring market conditions to ensure adequate supply and price stability before, during and after the event, including inspections of pricing practices at restaurants and service providers.
Transport and environmental management will also be intensified during peak periods. Measures include regulating trains and passenger buses, ensuring sanitation in Quy Nhon and Pleiku, organising taxi pick-up points and designating temporary parking areas, with local forces mobilised to provide free parking if needed.
