The opening ceremony drew thousands of residents and visitors to D2 Street along the Hội Phú stream embankment.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hữu Quế attended the event, which marked the formal debut of the night market model.
In his remarks, Đặng Toàn Thắng, Chairman of the Pleiku Ward People’s Committee, said the initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to unlocking the potential of night-time economic activities. The night street is expected to create new community spaces, enhance tourism and services, and improve residents’ quality of life.
The night street integrates food, shopping, entertainment, and displays of specialty products. It extends from Đại Đoàn Kết Square, runs along Phùng Hưng Street and nearby alleys, and reaches the Hội Phú stream embankment from Nguyễn Lương Bằng Street to Bà Triệu Street.
The market will operate daily from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, providing a fixed venue for entertainment, leisure, and commercial activities for both locals and tourists. The model is also expected to support local businesses in expanding their services.
The opening ceremony featured cultural performances by students from Asia Pacific International School Gia Lai and the Pleiku Ward Public Service Center, creating an energetic atmosphere. Delegates conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a lion dance symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the new market street.
Throughout the evening, provincial and local leaders toured the stalls and interacted with vendors, noting the strong community support and high expectations for Pleiku Ward’s new night-time economic hub.
