The newly completed stretch runs from a junction with the Da Nang–Quang Ngai Expressway to the Hoai Nhon–Quy Nhon route, improving links between southern Quang Ngai province and northern Binh Dinh province.
Five interchanges - Nghia Giang, TL624B, National Highway 24, Sa Huynh and Hoai Nhon - are expected to enhance regional connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods and passengers.
All main routes and interchanges, except for Duc Pho, have passed final inspections and been cleared for operation by the State Inspection Council. The opening coincides with the April 30–May 1 holiday period and is expected to ease congestion on National Highway 1, shorten travel times and improve road safety.
No tolls will be collected during the initial phase. A temporary toll station at Km1050+600 is in place as part of the closed toll system for the Da Nang–Quang Ngai Expressway, but charges will not yet apply to the Quang Ngai–Hoai Nhon section.
Project Management Board No. 2 said contractors will continue completing remaining works, including the Duc Pho interchange, eastern tunnel tubes, rest areas, intelligent transport systems and automated toll collection. Warranty works and the construction of local access roads are also ongoing to ensure safe and synchronised operations.
