This marks the third time Quy Nhon has earned the distinction, following wins in 2020 and 2024. Local officials said the continued recognition underscores the city’s compliance with criteria on environmental management, green spaces, and urban safety. Provincial leaders view the award as momentum for Gia Lai to advance sustainable, eco-friendly tourism ahead of Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2026.

Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of Gia Lai’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said upcoming priorities include repositioning the provincial tourism map, enforcing ASEAN environmental regulations, and expanding international tourism links.

The ASEAN Tourism Awards, held annually, highlight high-quality tourism products and services that support sustainable development across the region. The Philippines officially closed the 45th forum after the ceremony. Singapore will host the 46th ASEAN Tourism Forum in 2027.
