Authorities in Gia Lai province are completing final preparations for the opening ceremony of National Tourism Year 2026, with officials emphasizing safety, logistics and coordination ahead of the nationally televised event.

Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch led an on-site inspection on March 25, reviewing readiness across key operational areas alongside representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

The ceremony venue has been divided into multiple functional zones, including public access areas, a VIP reception space, a performance stage and designated seating for delegates and guests. The event is expected to take the form of a large-scale music festival, involving approximately 2,200 personnel in both organisational and performance roles.

Medical preparedness has been prioritised, with two large medical tents, six smaller tents positioned throughout the venue, and three standby ambulances ready to respond to emergencies.

During the inspection, Lịch instructed organisers to finalise all operational plans, with particular focus on traffic management and clearly separated routes for delegates, guests and the general public. She also called for strict security measures in technical zones and the provision of adequate working conditions for media personnel.

Delegates are required to arrive at least one hour before the ceremony begins to ensure smooth coordination. Food service areas must comply with stringent food safety and environmental hygiene standards, she added.

Organisers have also been tasked with developing detailed contingency plans to address unexpected situations. The layout of the stage and seating areas must be practical and accessible, while entry and exit routes for performers should be carefully designed to avoid disruptions or “dead air” during the live broadcast.

The opening ceremony will be broadcast live nationwide, prompting the province to establish a central command and operations centre led by the Provincial People’s Committee. The centre will coordinate efforts among police, medical teams and science and technology units to ensure rapid response to any incidents.

Lịch urged all relevant agencies to continue reviewing and completing outstanding tasks to ensure the ceremony is conducted safely and with appropriate ceremony, leaving a strong impression on both domestic and international audiences.
