The opening week is scheduled to run from March 23 to 30 across multiple locations in the province, featuring a wide range of cultural, sports and tourism activities designed to showcase Gia Lai’s potential and appeal to both domestic and international visitors.

Officials said the opening ceremony, set for the evening of March 28 at Nguyễn Tất Thành Square in Quy Nhơn Ward, is expected to host around 2,200 delegates, including senior government leaders, representatives of ministries, local authorities, businesses and international organisations. The event will be broadcast live on VTV1 and relayed by national and local media outlets.

Nguyễn Thị Thanh Lịch called for a thorough review of the ceremony script to ensure alignment with the live broadcast plan, stressing the need for close coordination to guarantee quality, progress and safety.

“This is a large-scale event of special significance; therefore, every stage of preparation must be carried out meticulously and synchronously”, she said.

Alongside the opening ceremony, a series of forums, conferences and cultural exchanges will take place. These include the “Gia Lai Tourism” Forum on potential and prospects, a seminar on activating the sea–highland economic axis, and the Gia Lai Province Investment Promotion Conference 2026. The province will also host cooperation signing events with southern Lao provinces and northeastern Cambodia, as well as a diplomatic programme welcoming ambassadors and consuls general.

Authorities are also focusing on strengthening promotion efforts through tourism materials, while ensuring service quality in accommodation and dining. Measures are being put in place to maintain security, traffic safety, environmental sanitation and food safety throughout the event.

Logistics, reception and volunteer services are being organised to accommodate both domestic and international delegates, with an emphasis on professionalism and hospitality.

Officials expect the event to provide momentum for tourism growth, attract investment and support efforts to position tourism as a key economic sector for Gia Lai in the coming years.
