The programme was organised by the commune’s Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development, aiming to promote digital transformation starting from households and local communities.
Speaking at the event, Thái Danh Hân, Secretary of the Ân Tường Commune Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council and head of the steering committee implementing Resolution No. 57, said digital transformation in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution was no longer a trend but a prerequisite for national and local development.
He highlighted the Politburo’s issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on December 22, 2024, which focuses on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, as evidence of the Party’s long-term strategic vision and determination to lead the country into the digital era.
In response, the Standing Committee of the Ân Tường Commune Party Committee established a dedicated steering committee and rolled out implementation plans with a unified approach that digital transformation must begin at the grassroots, placing people at the centre as both participants and beneficiaries.
According to Hân, the Digital Transformation Day was designed to help officials, Party members and residents better understand the importance of digital transformation and translate awareness into concrete actions, such as using digital platforms like VNeID for identification and administrative procedures, and applying digital technology in education, healthcare, social welfare, production and cashless consumption.
The large-scale event featured interactive and hands-on activities, strengthening direct engagement between authorities and residents. Booths offering practical experiences drew strong participation from students and locals, who practised online document submission, cashless payments, citizen ID registration and access to digital services for daily life.
Huỳnh Bảo Trâm, a Grade 12 student, said the experience helped her become more familiar with digital utilities, particularly VNeID and online public services, which she described as useful for her studies and future educational and career plans.
As digital technology becomes increasingly embedded across society, local leaders view the household as a critical starting point. In Ân Tường Commune, the “Digital Family” model has been identified as a foundation for building a digital government, digital citizens and a digital society from the grassroots level.
Vũ Thành Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ân Tường Commune, said the initiative aims to help residents better access online public services while encouraging the use of technology in learning, healthcare, financial management, consumption and parenting to improve quality of life and foster a modern digital lifestyle.
Under the initiative, the commune has set specific targets, including ensuring 90% of households have at least one member capable of submitting documents online, 100% of villages implementing the “Digital Family” model, and a significant rise in resident-led online submissions.
By the end of 2026, Ân Tường Commune aims for 98% of households with officials, Party members, civil servants, public employees and teachers, and more than 95% of households with union members or students from Grade 8 and above, to meet the criteria for recognition as “Digital Families.”
According to Mr. Lê Dũng Linh, Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Public Administration Service Center, although Ân Tường still faces many difficulties, the commune has paid great attention to digital transformation and the implementation of Resolution No. 57.
Organizing the Digital Transformation Festival, especially launching the “Digital Family” model, is a concrete and practical step that helps promote the application of science and technology, accelerates digital transformation, and improves public service quality, especially in administrative procedures.
