East Quy Nhon to host inaugural 2026 tourism festival showcasing coastal culture and heritage

The East Quy Nhon Ward will hold its first Tourism Festival on May 29 and 30, 2026, featuring a wide range of cultural, sports and tourism activities aimed at promoting the area’s coastal heritage and tourism potential.

Held under the theme “East Quy Nhon - The colors of the sea calling”, the festival will take place across multiple locations throughout the ward as part of activities marking the National Tourism Year 2026.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on May 29 at Nhon Ly Park within the Nhon Ly Cultural and Sports Center, will feature an artistic performance program titled “East Quy Nhon - Colors of the sea’s call.” The event will include cultural exchanges between dance clubs, live performances and DJ music shows.

Festival-goers will also be able to visit the online photo exhibition “East Quy Nhon - Colors of Life,” explore OCOP product displays and local cuisine booths on both festival days, and attend an additional cultural and artistic performance program on the evening of May 30 at the Nhon Ly Cultural and Sports Center.

Other highlights include the “East Quy Nhon - Colors of Vietnamese kites” kite festival, which will take place on May 29 and 30 along Nhon Hai beach from the Hai Nam to Hai Dong neighborhoods.

A dragon boat exchange program titled “Thi Nai Joyful Boats” is set for May 30 at the Ly Hung–Ly Luong beach area, featuring boat racing competitions, men’s and women’s tug-of-war contests, and traditional folk games such as pot breaking and land-based duck catching.

The festival will also host “Heritage colors: Bai Choi singing night” from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 30 at the outdoor stage on Hai Nam beach.

According to organizers, the festival is intended to preserve and promote traditional cultural values linked to the region’s maritime heritage while strengthening cultural exchanges among localities in the area.

The event is also expected to showcase the tourism potential, culture and people of East Quy Nhon Ward to domestic and out-of-province visitors, contributing to the broader promotion of tourism in Gia Lai and the surrounding region.
