Gia Lai photographer wins consolation prize at Đắk Lắk’s fourth Chư Yang Sin arts awards

A photographer from Gia Lai Province has won a consolation prize at the fourth Chư Yang Sin Literature and Arts Awards, held on December 29 at the Đắk Lắk Provincial Culture and Tourism Center.

Nguyễn Linh Vinh Quốc received the award in the Photography category for his work Simple Happiness, which documents the pottery-making process of H’Phiết Uông, one of the few remaining Mơ Nông R’lăm artisans in Đắk Lắk who still practices the traditional craft of ancient pottery.

The Chư Yang Sin Literature and Arts Awards, organized every five years by Đắk Lắk Province, recognize authors and works that have made significant contributions to local literature and the arts.

The awards also aim to encourage the creation of works with strong ideological and artistic value, supporting the province’s socio-economic development and national defense and security objectives.

For the 2020-2025 period, the organizing committee received 192 submissions from 91 authors from both within and outside the province. The entries covered a wide range of fields, including music, prose, poetry, folk arts, photography, fine arts, performing arts and cinema.

A total of 59 works were honored at the ceremony, comprising six first prizes, 13 second prizes, 17 third prizes and 23 consolation prizes.
