The limited-edition coffee comes from Gia Lai province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands. Marketed as HÀM RỒNG - Single Origin Limited Edition, it carries the growing region’s name and identifies Vinh Hiep Organic Farm as its producer.
Its inclusion brings a Vietnamese Robusta to the collection with its regional origin, processing method and producer identity recognised alongside the product.
The coffee is grown on basalt soils south of Ham Rong volcano, at about 750 metres above sea level. Vinh Hiep cultivates the TR4 Robusta variety there, using selective cultivation and harvesting alongside strict quality controls.
Processing takes place entirely in Vietnam. The farm combines natural processing with anaerobic fermentation to develop the coffee’s distinctive flavour profile.
The product was introduced during Buonissima 2026, a culinary event in Turin bringing together figures from the international gastronomy community.
Activities at Factory 1895 in Settimo Torinese and the Condividere restaurant explored the coffee through different brewing methods and food pairings.
Participants included French chef Yannick Alléno, Condividere executive chef Federico Zanasi and Italian pizza artisan Franco Pepe. The presentations featured coffee both as a beverage and as an ingredient in culinary pairings.
For Vinh Hiep, the launch forms part of an expansion into higher-value coffee products and further processing, building on its established export business.
Headquartered in Gia Lai, the company has operated for more than three decades.
According to information released by the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association at its annual review conference, Vinh Hiep retained its position as Vietnam’s largest coffee exporter in the 2025–2026 season.
The company is developing higher-quality coffee lines using beans from domestic growing regions, extending its activities beyond supplying raw materials.
Vietnam is the world’s leading supplier of Robusta coffee, a variety commonly used in blends. The Ham Rong release presents it instead as a single-origin product, with an emphasis on traceability, processing and a distinct flavour profile.
For Gia Lai, where coffee is a key agricultural sector, the launch reflects efforts to retain more value at origin through processing and product development, alongside green bean exports.
