The two projects, developed by Gia Lai Green Energy Investment JSC (SPIC Group), have a combined capacity of 99 MW and comprise 30 turbines of 3.3 MW each. They span the communes of Ia Grai, Gào, and Ia Hrung in the Central Highlands province.
According to the investor, the farms are expected to generate about 220 million kWh of electricity per year, contributing to carbon emissions reduction and easing regional supply-demand pressure. The facilities are also projected to support local job creation, budget revenues, and wider socio-economic development.
At the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hữu Quế praised the investors and participating units, calling the commissioning a significant step in Gia Lai’s renewable energy strategy and green economic transition. He urged operators to maintain safe and stable performance to maximize long-term project benefits.
Local authorities said the COD milestone underscores effective cooperation between businesses and government in advancing clean energy and aligns with the province’s sustainability goals.
As part of community support activities to mark the occasion, the company donated 150 social welfare gifts to residents in project areas. One hundred gifts, each valued at 1 million VND (about USD 40), were distributed to poor and disadvantaged households, while 50 gifts were delivered to villages across the three communes.
The company also co-organized the “SPIC Spring Tug-of-War Friendship Tournament,” fostering engagement and unity among local officials, businesses, and communities.
