A special exhibition highlighting the cultural heritage of Hue City opened on April 21 at the Pleiku Museum, offering visitors an in-depth look at the former imperial capital’s UNESCO-recognised legacy and traditional crafts.

Titled “Hue Cultural Heritage - Integration, Creativity, and Development”, the exhibition is jointly organised by the Hue City Museum of History and the Pleiku Museum. It runs until May 24 and features two main sections: a display area and an interactive experience space.

The exhibition area presents nearly 100 archival photographs and artefacts, introducing Hue’s heritage sites recognised by UNESCO, its nationally listed intangible cultural heritage, and a range of traditional craft villages emblematic of the city’s cultural identity.

In the interactive section, visitors can engage directly with artisans and explore stages of traditional craftsmanship, including Bao La bamboo and rattan weaving and Thanh Tien paper flower making. These crafts are closely linked to Hue’s long-standing cultural life.

Beyond showcasing Hue’s cultural and historical values, the exhibition is part of a broader series of events marking key national commemorations.

These include the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s letter to the Congress of Southern Ethnic Minorities held in Pleiku, Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day on April 19, and the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30.
