Two orphaned students in Gia Lai Province have been awarded scholarships aimed at supporting their education and improving their future prospects, local officials said.

Võ Thu Ngân, a Grade 12 student at Trưng Vương High School, received a Vallet Scholarship worth 17 million VND (approximately $680).

Võ Bảo Châu, an eighth-grade student at Ngô Mây Secondary School, was granted a 15-million-VND scholarship (approximately $600) from the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Children in France.

The awards were presented on March 21 by Dr. Trần Thanh Sơn, Deputy Director of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), representing the Vallet Scholarship Fund of Rencontres du Vietnam and its partner organization.

Dr. Sơn described the scholarships as practical support measures designed to encourage the students to continue their studies and pursue better opportunities despite their circumstances.

He added that both organizations will continue to monitor and support the students, helping them stabilize their lives, focus on education, and work toward a brighter future.

The Vallet Scholarship was established in 1999, funded by the voluntary contributions of Odon Vallet, a Doctor of Science in Law from France and Professor of Religious History at the Sorbonne University. Meanwhile, the Association for the Support of Vietnamese Children in France (Aide à l’Enfance du Vietnam) is chaired by Professor Lê Kim Ngọc.
