Senior provincial leaders, vice chairpersons, committee members, and representatives of departments and localities attended the meeting through hybrid platforms.
According to reports presented at the conference, provincial authorities in January focused on executing plans to achieve the 2026 socio-economic development targets while preparing for the upcoming Lunar New Year.
The agriculture sector directed localities to accelerate production of the 2025–2026 Winter–Spring crop, with rice growing well across most areas. Livestock development and disease control were reinforced, while aquatic output reached an estimated 19,033.4 tonnes, up 10.2% year-on-year.
Industrial production maintained strong momentum, with the January 2026 industrial production index rising 16.12% from a year earlier.
Provincial industrial zones attracted two new projects worth 319.8 billion VND (approx. USD 13.1 million) across 23.8 hectares, while four projects with a combined investment of 5,338 billion VND (approx. USD 218.2 million) commenced operations.
Since January, the province has drawn 29 investment projects totaling 46,080.43 billion VND (approx. USD 1.88 billion).
Trade and services were buoyant, with retail sales and consumer service revenue estimated at 17,303.98 billion VND (approx. USD 706.7 million), an 11.8% year-on-year increase.
Export revenue reached USD 372.4 million, fulfilling 12.01% of the annual plan, up 12.8% year-on-year. State budget revenue rose sharply to 6,257.8 billion VND (approx. USD 255.5 million), equivalent to 22.5% of the yearly estimate and up 120.1% from the same period of 2025.
Tourism continued its recovery, welcoming an estimated 850,000 visitors, a 7.4% rise year-on-year. The province launched activities under the “Culture - Sports - Tourism Week in Response to National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026”.
In preparation for the 2026 Lunar New Year, the province implemented targeted social welfare measures. More than 38 billion VND (approx. USD 1.55 million) was allocated for Tet gifts, including 1 million VND (approx. USD 41) per poor household and 500,000 VND (approx. USD 20.5) per near-poor household. Beneficiaries such as people with meritorious service, vulnerable communes and villages, and inpatients also received support.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Pham Anh Tuan urged agencies and localities to intensify efforts to meet and surpass socio-economic targets in 2026.
He emphasized stronger decentralization and accountability, along with enhanced inspection and evaluation based on work efficiency and public and business satisfaction, especially in areas such as project implementation, site clearance, public investment disbursement, and revenue collection.
The Chairman also instructed authorities to tighten market management, ensure stable supply and prices, and maintain strict national defense, security, social order, and disease-control measures, aiming to provide citizens with a safe and orderly Lunar New Year.
