Gia Lai Party Chief seeks stronger investment and trade links during Shanghai visit

A delegation from Gia Lai, led by Provincial Party Secretary Thai Dai Ngoc, held courtesy meetings on July 7 with leaders of the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Shanghai Federation of Modern Industries to strengthen economic cooperation and promote opportunities.

The delegation included Tran Huy Hung, Consul General of Vietnam in Shanghai; Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee; Tran Cang, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Department of Finance; together with representatives from provincial departments, local authorities and businesses.

The Gia Lai delegation was welcomed by Li Dong, Chairman of the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Ton Kien Binh, Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Modern Industries.

During the meetings, Thai Dai Ngoc thanked the two organizations for their warm reception and called for greater support in introducing Gia Lai's investment potential, competitive advantages, business environment and portfolio of investment projects to their member enterprises.

He highlighted several priority sectors for investment, including deep processing of agricultural products, supporting industries, equipment and component manufacturing, smart logistics, clean energy, digital technology, data centers, industrial park infrastructure, technical workforce training, as well as green and high-tech industries.

Thai Dai Ngoc reaffirmed Gia Lai's commitment to providing a transparent, stable and business-friendly investment environment. He said the province would continue to support investors throughout the research, implementation and operation of projects, promptly resolve challenges and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of businesses.

Li Dong and Ton Kien Binh praised Gia Lai's socio-economic development achievements, particularly its efforts to improve investment attraction policies and expand international exchanges and cooperation.

The two leaders also pledged to further strengthen cooperation between Shanghai's business community and Gia Lai province, with the aim of making bilateral economic and investment ties more practical and effective.
