Since early 2025, the agency has worked with 10 schools across the province to conduct awareness sessions aimed at giving adolescents accurate knowledge and practical life skills.
In the first six months of 2025, five lower and upper secondary schools in the former Quy Nhơn City area held comprehensive sexuality education club activities for students.
The sessions focused on reproductive health, friendships, romantic relationships, and early detection of developmental issues. Officials said the activities provided a safe space for students to raise questions and access reliable information.
From late October 2025, similar programs expanded to five schools in the western region of the province, offering extracurricular lessons on population, development, reproductive health care, and gender equality.
On November 15 in Pleiku Ward, more than 700 eighth- and ninth-grade students from Phạm Hồng Thái Lower Secondary School attended a session addressing gender, puberty changes, unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and contraceptive methods. Students’ questions were answered directly, and 50 representatives competed in a “Golden bell challenge” quiz to test their knowledge.
School leaders said accurate information helps protect young people from misinformation. “Access to official, accurate information creates a ‘shield’ to protect students from harmful and misleading content”, said Hoàng Hữu Hương, Principal of Phạm Hồng Thái Lower Secondary School.
Pleiku High School also held similar extracurricular programs. According to Biology Department Head Trương Thị Thanh Dung, the sessions provide students with awareness, knowledge, and responsibility to avoid crossing boundaries or marrying before the legal age.
Students said the lessons helped them better understand changes during adolescence and make responsible decisions. “Without proper knowledge, we can easily make wrong choices that affect both our physical and mental health”, said Bùi Hoàng Anh Tuấn, a 10th-grade student.
